Pediatric Cancer Research

The Gerrit and Amy Cole Foundation supports research funded by the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and their Will Irwin Fund.

Current funding focuses on supporting people enrolled in a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) trial study. This study is wrapping up phase 1 of testing to determine the safety of a potential vaccine to be used in conjunction with other IV drugs.

Additional support is provided to The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund which provides financial and emotional support for families navigating the challenges of pediatric cancer.

Education

Since 2021, The Gerrit and Amy Cole Foundation supported MS/HS 223 -The Laboratory School of Finance & Technology in the Bronx, NY

2024 funding supported four class field trips for grades 6-8 and 12th. These opportunities gave the youth the opportunity and exposure to Washington D.C. and Boston to learn more about the history of the United States.

Culture & Arts Education

The Gerrit and Amy Cole Foundation support several performing arts organizations in Orange County.

In 2024-25:

• Served as an Artist Sponsor for four performances across genres at the Irvine Barclay Theater to introduce youth to inspirational artistic experiences. Take a look at this video to see youth enjoying and meeting flautist Jasmine Choi.
• Supported Backhausdance, the leading modern dance company in Orange County. They take pride in connecting dance to learning, creative expression and overall well-being.
• Philharmonic Society of Orange County and their Nationally recognized Youth Music Education Program.
• Pacific Symphony, a world class orchestra with a focus on youth outreach and youth performance, with representation from thirty-four schools in grades 9-12.
